I’m a postgraduate law student with a love of languages, literature and history, and I provide professional translation services to private clients, businesses and organisations.
Behind my translation services there is more than a knowledge of languages and of professional terminology. There is also a personal story, a life lived between countries and cultures, a love of the written word, and a belief in the importance of clear, accurate communication between people.
Over the years I have learned that language is much more than a collection of words and grammar rules. It is how we express ourselves, tell our story, manage our affairs and communicate with the world. Sometimes a single word can change the meaning of a whole sentence, and in official and legal documents that precision matters even more.
That is the approach I bring to every translation.
My story
I was born and raised in Israel, and today my life brings together my Israeli background and my life in the United Kingdom. This has given me a broad view of cultural, linguistic and social differences, and of the challenges of dealing with institutions, authorities and administrative systems in different countries.
I know what it is like to have to present an official document in another country, to explain your personal or professional background in a foreign language, or to face bureaucratic requirements that are not always familiar.
Knowing both cultures, Israeli and British, lets me understand not only the language a document is written in, but also the context in which it was created and the purpose it is needed for.
In my view, this is one of the most important parts of a translator’s work. A good translation does not simply swap words from one language for another. It aims to keep the meaning, intent and precision of the original document, while adapting them to the target language.
My education and legal background
Alongside my work in translation, law is a significant part of my academic and professional life.
I hold a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Hons) from The Open University in the UK, and I am now studying for a master’s degree in law at The University of Law, one of the UK’s specialist institutions for legal education and training.
Studying law has deepened my understanding that wording, word choice and precise terminology can matter far beyond the text itself.
My studies take me into English legal language, the principles of UK law, legal research and the analysis of complex documents. This knowledge helps me in my translation work, especially with legal, official and administrative documents that call for close attention to detail.
I see law and translation as two worlds that complement each other. Both call for a deep understanding of the text, care over detail, and the ability to convey meaning clearly, accurately and faithfully to the source.
My membership of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting
I am an Associate Member of the UK’s professional association for translators and interpreters, the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI).
Membership of a professional body for translation reflects the importance I place on professional development, continuous learning and high professional standards in my work.
I believe a professional translator should keep widening their knowledge, keep up with changes in language and terminology, and approach every job with responsibility and a commitment to quality.
My love of languages, writing and literature
Beyond law and translation, one of my main interests is literature.
I write creatively, and I am especially interested in human stories, history, identity, society and the meeting of cultures.
Writing has given me a deep appreciation of the power of language and of choosing the right words. As a writer, I know how much a small change in wording can affect the way an idea, a feeling or a message reaches the reader.
Literature and writing also shape my work as a translator. They sharpen my sense of style, context and meaning, and of how a text should sound and read in the target language.
For me, language is both a profession and a personal interest that I enjoy exploring further.
My translation services
I translate from Hebrew into English and from English into Hebrew, with care for accuracy, professionalism, discretion and a personal approach.
My services include translating official and personal documents, certificates and academic documents, legal and administrative documents, business documents, and translations needed for immigration, citizenship, study, work and dealing with institutions and authorities.
Depending on your needs and the requirements of the organisation receiving it, you can also have a certified translation with a translator’s statement, where that type of certification meets the relevant requirements.
I make a point of understanding the purpose of the translation and the relevant requirements in advance, so that every client receives a service that fits their needs.
My approach: professional and personal
I believe that behind every document there is a person, and behind every translation request there is a story, a need or a goal.
Sometimes it is a birth certificate needed for citizenship, a marriage certificate, an academic certificate for a university application, or a legal document needed for an important process. Other times it is a business or personal document that the client simply needs in another language.
Whatever the type of document or the size of the job, I believe every client deserves a service that is professional, courteous, clear and transparent.
It matters to me to be available for questions, to explain how the work is done and to give you confidence throughout. I prefer personal, direct communication, where you know who is handling your documents and can contact me with any question or request.
I also place great importance on protecting my clients’ privacy and the confidentiality of the information and documents they entrust to me, in line with the data protection requirements that apply to the service, including the UK GDPR where it applies.
Why me?
I bring to my work first-hand experience of life in Israel and in the UK, a legal education, a deep interest in languages and writing, and an approach built on personal responsibility and attention to detail.
I don’t believe in a service where the client is just an order number. It is important to me to understand the need behind the request, to know what the document is for, and to give a professional and personal response.
My goal is simple: an accurate, clear translation that is faithful to the source, together with a service that is pleasant, available and reliable.
I believe a satisfied client is not only someone who received their translated document on time, but also someone who felt they had someone to rely on throughout the process.
I’d be glad to help
If you need a translation of an official document, a personal certificate, a legal document, an academic document or any other document from Hebrew into English or from English into Hebrew, I’d be glad to help.
You are welcome to get in touch, ask questions, and get more information or a quote for your needs.
Because to me, every document matters, every word matters, and behind every translation there is a person.
